Parenting and Child Conduct Counseling specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with behavior problems, AD/HD, anxiety, or who are struggling with adverse reactions associated with abuse. We use only evidence - based therapies which have been developed to address each child's specific condition and issues. That is to say, Evidence - Based Treatments have been shown to work in a significant number of cases for a specific type of disorder. Parent Management Training in the Kazdin Method™, for example, has been shown to have a 78% effectiveness rate in the treatment of Disruptive Behavior Disorders. 

Evidence—based therapies possess several distinct differences and advantages compared to other modes of therapy. Treatments are brief—some as short as 6—8 weeks. The clinician takes an active and  directive role during therapy to facilitate rapid progress. Caretakers are an integral part of the process. Therapy sessions are not confined to 50—minute sessions once a week and clients will leave each session with homework to do between sessions. 

Primarily, we use three evidence - based treatments at Parenting and Child Conduct Counseling. Parent Management Training (PMT) in the Kazdin Method™ is our flagship therapy for disruptive behavior disorders. Problem - Solving Skills Training™ (PSST) compliments PMT in the treatment of behavior problems and is an effective treatment for anxiety and impulsivity. Trauma - Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy™ (TF - CBT) is our treatment for PTSD - like symptoms associated with child abuse and maltreatment.
