About the TherapistI provide individual and family counseling that focuses on child and adolescent issues. All of my child and adolescent therapies are Evidence—Based, which means all treatments have been researched and been found to be effective in changing problem behavior and/or reducing psychological distress in significant numbers of children and adolescents. Evidence—Based therapies address many of the common child and adolescent issues such as anxiety, depression, defiant behavior, Communication/problem solving, trauma & traumatic grief, ADHD, PTSD, and OCD.
Research has found that parents/caregivers are one of the most effective agents of change in their children’s problem behavior. Consequently, virtually all Evidence—Based therapies require significant parental involvement to assure a higher probability of success. I hold KPMT certification as a Parent Management Training clinician in the Kazdin Method. PMT is an Evidence—Based therapy for families with children and adolescents who display oppositional, aggressive, and antisocial behavior. All of my training was taken through the Yale Parenting Center and Child Conduct Clinic in New Haven, CN. Dr. Kazdin has been featured on several national television shows including Dr. Phil and the Today Show. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy |
